SI Joint Implant

The California Pain Doctors are trained in the Orthofix SI Joint Implant that can help to relieve pain for those patients with Sacroiliac Joint Disorder. The Orthofix SambaScrew is a minimally invasive surgical technique developed to fix sacroiliac fixation.  Pain caused by by SI joint disorder can be felt in the lower back, buttocks, or legs.

The SI joint can be a source of pain in patients with complaints of lower back pain, other potential symptoms such as lower extremity pain(numbness, tingling, weakness), pelvis/buttock pain, hip/groin pain, unilateral leg instability (buckling, giving way), disturbed sleep patterns, disturbed sitting patterns (unable to sit for long periods of time on one side), pain going away from sitting to standing.  SI joint fixation is indicated in patients with severe, chronic sacroiliac joint pain who have failed extensive conservative measures or in acute cases of trauma.
