Reason for Becoming a Doctor and Education
Dr. Robert Wood has always wanted to be a doctor, and grew up with his father who was a radiologist. At a young age, Dr. Wood learned what it meant to be a doctor, and how it could impact people’s lives.

He studied at the University of San Diego, University of Southern California, as well as the University Autonoma de Guadalajara, in Jalisco, Mexico. He went to medical school at the University of Southern California and earned his Masters degree in Public Health at UCLA. He later did additional internships, fellowships, completed his residency at USC medical school where he studied anesthesiology.
Along with his academic achievements, Dr. Wood was in the Peace Corp and worked as a high school science teacher and curriculum developer in Honduras, Central America, as a Peace Corps Volunteer. His specialties include anesthesia, implants, spinal coordination and pain management. He enjoys working with his patients because he has the opportunity to help people get relief from pain. “I love working with my patients, I have learned a lot of lessons, and I enjoy talking to them and empathizing with what they are going through,” says Dr. Wood. He feels that it is very important to intervene sooner rather than later, for more successful outcomes.
When Dr. Wood is not Practicing Medicine
When Dr. Wood is away from the office he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also likes hiking, lifting weights, biking and raising his 5 beautiful german shepherds. He is very active and is well-educated on nutrition and healthy eating habits.
